I've loved Cosy's resources for a long time, and can shout loud enough about how versatile they are for all settings with children - whether home, childminders, nursery, schools... they're amazing for wherever!
They've just released there NEW IN range for 2024 and there are so many wonderful new items.
I've popped together this blog post to highlight my favourites and what's on our wish list!
Rookie Low Bookcase
I love this low bookcase! Not only is it flat to the floor to allow for crawling babies to access it themselves, but it's also front facing so that you can see the covers - making books more inviting and easier to make choices from.
Crawl Up Mirrors
We DIY-ed one of these Montessori-inspired mirrors in Mr 2's nursery, but would totally invest in these for the playspace and nursery when we have a second child. The pull-up bar is such a great addition to the safe mirror and is a great way to encourage gross motor development and self discovery.
Black and White Baby Pattern Balls
Don't these look fab? I can totally see these being popular with young babies. Even from newborn these could be placed to the side of babies or infront for during tummy time!
Tuff Spot Hut
Loving this new addition to Cosy's website! We're looking at ways to make the garden more... weatherproof, so that we can use it more comfortably even through the Winter. This might just be the solution!
Open Spire Shelving
Montessori-inspired open shelving is very popular in both the home and educational setting these days for displaying children's toys and resources. The benefits of having open shelving are that they allow for resources to be displayed 'beautifully' - making them look engaging, as well as being visible to children. Often if toys are packed away, children forget about them (out of sight, out of mind). These shelves offer height for longevity whilst also being aestetically pleasing!
Baby Cruise Circle
I just LOVE the concept of these low tables for young babies! What a fantastic idea. If I had the space at home (and a baby!), I could totally see how wonderful and versatile this cruise circle could be.
Building Block Platforms
These platforms are so similar to the RAD Children's version which is only available in the US and I LOVE them! I can totally see how versatile these would be, from 6 months - way into childhood! For at home, it looks like thed slide under a sofa to store away if necessary. A product I'll definitely be considering!
Perch Pods
Again, these are similar to the RAD Children's stools and look so great for both sitting on and building on/across. Sitting on stools rather than chairs has being suggested to be much better for their development, as well as them offering opportunities to solve problems by making spaces more accessible - hence we have SO many stools at home! These look like a great, sturdy option.
Lookout Tower
A fun addition to the garden or an outdoor play space! I know that Mr 2 would love this - being a child who enjoys being up high to observe. I like the fact it has two differrent types of steps to offer different gross motor challenge and has longevity for the ages it could be used from!
Toddler Sensory Crawler Arch
How beautiful is this. I can already picture the exploration and investigation that would be happening in and around this for babies and younger toddlers. Again, something it'd totally consider if I had a baby and the space!
Tuff Spot Sorting Trays
We all love a sorting tray and these look a lovely shade of wood. I also like how wide and flat they are to allow for them to be used with larger loose parts.
Natural Shape Peg Puzzles Another Montessori-inspired product and one I'd have defiitely been buying if Mr 2 was younger. Size sorting and spacial awareness are early mathematical skills that puzzles are wondeful to support in developing.
Mixed Shape Peg Puzzles
With the natural wood, these are so simple yet inviting as early puzzles for younger toddlers.
Short Chutes and Channels
Another thing on our current wishlist! I love the fact that these are low, small and short. Perfect for indoor play in smaller spaces, but still meeting those needs of trajectory schema play.
Enchanted Wooden Spoons
Any early years practitioner loves a spoon, and what a set this is! I love how every single one is so special and has that magical feel about them. I can already imagine how these will be inspiring so much potions play!
White Mini Tuff Spot
A tuff spot is SO useful in so many ways, however, having a white play surface allows the toys and reouscrs on the tray to really stand out and pop.
Tree Tipi
How inviting does this look?! I love the fact that any tree could be turned into a magical spot to play in, around and under. So many outdoor adventures could be had with this in tow.
